For our second GNP trip, we made another attempt to see Grinnell Lake. We wanted to go further to Grinnell Lake, but the trail was closed due to bear activity. We had hiked around Swiftcurrent Lake and over to Lake Josephine on a previous trip. By the way, the toilet in the trail is very very primitive, many many flies and with very awful smell. we saw a deer, also the guide point out a bear foot print to us. You may also enconter wild animal on the trail, e.g.

The scenery in the Grinnell lake is beautiful, you can stay there for a rest, to enjoy the beautiful nature. There is a swinging bridge near the end, just need to be be careful, take care of the young kids when walking across that bridge. But the hike to the Grinnell lake from the Josephine lake was management for most of the people, we walked with 2 kids are fine. We join the boat tour in Many glacier, and there is an optional hike to the Grinnell lake, as there is a guide to lead us, why not join it? i think it's better to follow a guide if you don't have much experience in hiking, otherwise you may get lost, the trail is between easy to moderate, it takes about an hour walking from the dock of Lake Josephine to the lake Grinnell, you can see some waterfalls (may formed by the melting snow), but at the Grinnell lake, you can't see the Grinnell glacier, if you want to see the glacier, you need to do a few more hours hike and the hike is a tough one.
